Students made move posters/trailers for Mongol Movie. Students used Canva to make the posters, and I allowed them to use voice-over AI to make their trailers. Students wrote a plot summary, where they had to structure their film around the Mongol rise to power.

Wow! I love, love, love this activity you created. I have been looking for a nice visual activity to use for the Mongols and it looks like you have done it! Not only do you tap into the creative side by using the movie poster, but I really appreciate how you provide specific expectations that needed to be met with secondary sources and graphic bios. Also, asking students to justify their rating by asking them to explain their rating system so they consider their audience is really wonderful. I would love to see how this turns out. Thanks for posting and you have given me an activity to consider in the future.

What an awesome question. I would probably have them write their research in rotten tomato scores to incorporate some more of their research.

The movie poster resource from Canva is terrific! I am really looking forward to using this as some kind of informal assessment. Super creative and different. Thanks for the share and yes, the student examples definitely inspired me. Do you use this for other units/topics?

I will probably use something like this for my US I class; we will use this for some of the suffragists/Abolitionists.
