Why were the geography and writing assignments removed? I'm comparing the new version to what I had in canvas already and I'm noticing that the updated Origins doesn't contain nearly as much writing or geography assignments.

We removed the old mapping activities in response to teacher feedback about their complexity. However, we are planning to expand our map collection in the coming year, and  to revamp world history geography activities. 

However, the mapping activities are still available. They, alongside all the other content from the previous version of OER Project courses is available here, in this Google folder: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1xpOAj-fqhEDtO9CSjEhe46bw82srEEGj . Click on the course you teach, and you'll find the mapping activities in the first and last lessons of each unit. Let me know if you have any questions!

In the meantime, definitely check out the new geography activities in Big History, many of which will work in a world history class.
