Exploring Inquiry Design with OER Project Materials * What Are You Creating?
I've been diving into the Inquiry Design Model (IDM) and experimenting with building my own lessons using OER Project materials, especially their videos and articles. It's been incredibly helpful to mix and match these resources to craft compelling inquiries that are rooted in strong disciplinary questions.
Right now, I'm designing IDM blueprints around some of the World History Project 1200 to the Present. I am taking compelling questions and supporting them with curated OER resources. I’ve found that combining short, content-rich videos with engaging articles really helps spark student curiosity and discussion.
I'm really curious: What are other teachers doing with IDM and OER Project resources?
- Are you creating full IDM blueprints, or focusing on supporting questions?
- How do you scaffold the tasks and performance assessments?
I'd love to hear your approaches, and maybe even swap some ideas or examples! Let’s keep building strong, inquiry-based learning together. I hope to attend the NCSS professional development in July- If you are attending I would like to meet and discuss what we learn and how it could apply to what we are doing at the OER Project.
