Final Exams

Does anyone give out a final exam for the Origins or 1200 World History courses? Or how do you assess student's cumulative knowledge of the course?

    My school prefers a traditional exam (instead of a project or portfolio). At the end of the first quarter (of a semester) I give students a midterm that covers skills and content from units 1-4. At the end of the second quarter, I give my students a final that covers skills and content from units 5-9.
