Classroom Connection: Society of Forgotten Explorers

The Explorers Club shared stories from the Society of Forgotten Explorers, to highlight individuals whose contributions were overlooked in the history of exploration.

We want to hear what you're going to carry with you on your teaching expedition:

  • What stood out to you from the stories of Ibn Battuta, Benedict of Poland, and Mau Piailug?
  • What kind of mindsets do you hope to cultivate in students learning about explorers?
  • How do you help students switch scale to the level of individuals when learning history?

    So this is a real thing.  Cool website.   I love the idea of exploration.  There are some yung youtubers that explore places through games.  My 19 years son and I watch episodes of Jetlag together.  They post their efforts to mitigate their carbon footprint.  It gets me thinking about the consequences of exploration.  That changes that come come with exchange.  Should we explore?  Are we doing more harm than good.  They stories create more good to celebrate.
