PBL Ideas - World History after 1200/1750?

Context: Teaching 10th grade, general ed, World History and Geography; district has adopted PBL practices but with limited examples/support

Seeking: Examples of quality projects that encompass the themes of change and continuity over time (1st Semester, thru Industrial Revolution) OR oppression/genocide (2nd Semester, WWI thru Today) to cover Michigan HS Content Standards

Additional considerations: Partnering with 10th grade ELA teacher with similar themes (1st Sem - What makes 'good' literature transcend time?; 2nd Sem - Holocaust literature); NOT co-teaching a course, but sharing the same students in different classes.

What works will students be reading from the Holocaust in their ELA class? That sounds like a great opportunity for the study of history to transcend course boundaries.
