Your Argument Is Full of CRAPP! - Robert Valenti

As teachers, we ask our students to make claims or arguments using evidence all of the time. It may be low-risk writing or more of a formal assessment, but more often than not students struggle to support the claims they are making. There are a variety of ways to teach students to analyze documents, but do they have the skills they need to identify the information they should be applying to strengthen an argument? The missing link is to teach students the habit of annotating and marking their texts so they can unlock the valuable information they need to build better arguments with evidence.
