Scaffolding discussions around racial equity is something that numerous schools around the US have made the conscious effort to invest in. The need for these conversations has become extremely apparent and has been prioritized due to the discrimination that people of color are facing. However, there is something missing. In order to truly make change, we need our educators to have sympathy towards their students of color so that they can truly feel the urgency for need of change. Through stories, we can break barriers and create the human connection we so desperately need.
