Youth Ambassador Civics with Heart has partnered with SEE Learning, (Social Emotional and Ethical Learning) program which is part of Emory University’s Center for Contemplative Science and Compassion-Based Ethics at Emory University, emphasizing the teachings of the Dalai Lama. This new innovative class is fusing “secular ethics” with social studies and civic education. The pilot class is housed at Denny International Middle School in Seattle, WA, intentionally fostering critical thinking skills, compassion, kindness, and social and emotional learning opportunities for students to understand their place as change agents in the world.
