Discourse

One goal of OER Project courses is to help students communicate and collaborate effectively. We want students not only to think and write like historians, but to speak like historians as well. This involves using key terms in discussion and knowing how to respectfully disagree and challenge the statements of others, both in class and beyond. Start with structured discussions at the beginning of the school year, and soon your students will learn to engage in thoughtful, civil, and meaningful discourse without your prompting.
