The OER Project Teacher Community is a vibrant, supportive space for sharing teaching insights. With the OER Project Community app (available from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store), your mobile experience will be better than ever before!
Registering an OER Project account
To use the Community app, you need to first register an OER Project account (if you don’t have one already!). Your OER Project account is completely free and allows you to post in the Community; unlocks additional teacher resources and supports; and allows you to register for our monthly professional learning events. Click here to register!
Downloading the app
Once you’ve registered and confirmed your OER Project account, use one of the links below to find and install the app for your device.
Signing in to the app
Open the app, and sign in using your OER Project account credentials. Once you’ve signed in, you’ll see a pop-up with the latest Community announcements and blog posts. If you would prefer not to see announcements on sign-in, simply uncheck the box on the lower part of the screen.
After you’ve closed the announcements pop-up, your home page will show a feed of recent conversations in the Community. If something looks interesting, just click through to view the discussion.
Otherwise, you can use the navigation bar at the bottom of your screen to get around.
The navigation bar
Clicking on the Forums icon takes you to a list of topic-based discussion groups and the Teacher’s Lounge, where you’ll find announcements, tips, and discussions on general topics in education.
Clicking on Blogs sends you to the OER Project Blog, a space updated several times a month with lesson plans, explorations of lesser-known corners of history, climate news, and other material for teachers.
Events is where you’ll find upcoming online professional learning sessions. Each month, learning experts and historians lead virtual discussions and workshops on fundamental learning skills and hot topics in today’s classroom.
Help brings you to the Help and Support section you’re reading right now—always handy for finding answers for all your OER questions, including those about the Community and the OERProject.com platform.
Finally, the three dots (sometimes referred to as a “hamburger menu”) allows you to Sign Out or view the app’s About information.
