Welcome to the OER Project Teacher Community, a vibrant hub where educators come together to share support, ideas, and inspiration for teaching OER Project materials. By joining this community, you’re building a professional network that enhances the teaching-learning experience for you and your students.
We encourage you to:
Share Your Challenges and Ask for Help: Our community is a positive and supportive space where you can ask for assistance. Whenever you have a question or face a challenge, feel free to create a post. For example: “I'm new to OER Project—which course will be best for my middle schoolers?” Or: “What are your go-to activities to engage students at the start of the year?” By sharing these questions, you’re not only getting answers for yourself, but for the many others who may need them as well!
Answer Questions and Support Others: Our community thrives on the wealth of information shared by educators like you. If you have an answer to a question, an idea sparked by a post, or simply want to say “me too,” go for it! You can also build on someone’s post. For example: “How do you modify that activity for diverse abilities?” Or: “My students struggled with this activity; how did you introduce it?”
Bring the Community into Your Classroom: Teachers love to see what’s happening in other classrooms. It’s great for inspiration. You can post student work samples (without names or identifiable information) or pictures of your setup. For example: “I'd love to hear your feedback on these student work samples from today's activity.” And don’t feel like you can only share the positives—sharing about a lesson that didn’t go as planned or about a student (again, with no identifiable information) you’re struggling to engage will open up conversations that will help you and others in the community!
Use Our Community Features: If you're searching for a specific topic and can't find relevant posts, try using the Search bar, checking related tags, or creating a new post yourself.
Share Helpful Resources and Tips: Every OER Project teacher tailors course materials to their classroom’s needs. If you have a resource or tip that might benefit another educator, share it with the community so everyone can learn from your experience.
