Curiosity and asking lots of questions are natural behaviors for young learners. These behaviors help young students develop deep level thinking and make connections between classroom learning and their communities. The C3 framework and the inquiry model provide educators a crucial tool for helping elementary school students learn and practice necessary skills and critical thinking processes needed for future social studies learning.
