Everything is online or on social media these days, including conversations of local and national importance. So, if we want our students to be civically engaged and contributing to these conversations, then we teachers need to guide our students into that digital landscape, coach them as they craft their content, and provide a platform for sharing their work. Music videos and YouTube happen to be my students' favorites, and in this talk I will show you how my kids make a video, step-by-step, from initial concept to published entry in the public discourse.
