Propaganda vs. History: Decolonization during the Cold War

April 24, 2024 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. PT / 7 to 8:30 p.m. ET

This session has two objectives. The first is to explore pedagogical strategies for helping students understand the impacts of the Cold War on Africa and the Caribbean. The second is to show, with examples, how people and institutions with power created propaganda and influenced the writing of history during the Cold War era. The session will be led by the historian Dr. Audra A. Diptée.
