The Texas regional social studies leaders and OER Project believe that teachers are the key to providing students with the skills and knowledge necessary to lead our country into the future. In that spirit, Texas regional social studies leaders and OER Project are collaborating on a series of workshops for teachers who are looking to add a few new tools to their toolbox.

Amping Up Argumentative Writing: Making Strong Claims

What should we believe? How do we know that what we are reading is a reliable source? To create a solid argumentative writing piece, learners must understand how to develop worthwhile claims. We delve into the world of making and testing claims with students as they begin the writing process. Come along and learn how a few engaging claim testing activities can serve as a springboard for your student’s writing.

Members of the OER Project team will work with Texas social studies leaders to design each session with your needs in mind.
