WSCSS Centering the Social Studies

• How to integrate inquiry, culturally responsive teaching, and civic action in your classroom, school, and community
• Use project based learning to develop student skills and promote equity in the classroom
• Apply the new Washington State Social Studies Learning Standards to help advocate for better social studies instruction in schools and advocate for more social studies instruction
• Helping pre-service and new teachers navigate the first few years of their teaching career

Attendees will hear a wide variety of speakers share their experiences in education; learn new strategies to help teachers develop better social studies curricula; and become agents of change to advocate for the re-centering of social studies in classrooms across our state and the nation. 

Conference attendees must register for clock hours using the pdEnroller website. All attendees can earn up to three free clock hours for this event. (Note that the fourth session for pre-service and new teachers is not eligible for clock hours.)

Conference registration and clock hour registration are separate processes.

Clock hour certification will take at least a week after the conference as OSPI needs to verify each attendees' presence at the conference. Thanks for your patience.
