I work in Australia and I find the OER conference is really beneficial because the discussions aren't necessarily the same as the local professional conversations I'm having with colleagues. Engaging with debates outside my own cultural context can get me to look at issues from a different perspective and really enrich my teaching. It's also often reassuring to see how many of my teaching struggles are truly global
