OER Project is the right fit for Connecticut schools in more ways than one:

  • World History Project (WHP) Origins to the Present is widely used in the Connecticut Technical Education and Career System (CTECS) and aligns with its standards.
  • World History Project (WHP) 1750 to the Present is ideal for high-school students taking world history.
  • Big History Project is an excellent fit for middle-school students to establish an interdisciplinary foundation in historical and critical thinking.

Explore the courses mentioned above at your own pace, and once you’re ready to dive into planning, check out the Connecticut-specific resources below to get started!

Which best describes you?

 What Connecticut Teachers are Saying

"The [WHP] Origins to the Present course gives students the chance to tackle big questions by pulling together thematic resources and combining them into each era. Our district used this curriculum for ninth-grade students as it allowed us to engage students in creative ways but also allowed for academic freedom with the many different choices within each era. I really like that in the OER Project students can adjust articles to various reading levels, which allows for individual differentiation based on students’ individual reading needs. I have also seen students use the writing prompts along with the Revision Assistant to really improve their writing over the course of the year."
